CIT Photographic Society launched its latest photography exhibition at
Cork Institute of Technology on Monday (April 19).
The exhibition, called Brobdingnagian, showcased work by seven
students Laura Kacinauskaite, Sarah Radwen, John Power, Dave Rees, Sean F.
Murphy, Catherine Hussey and Treasa Foley - who have concentrated on the CIT
campus for their inspiration.
The exhibition title is inspired by Jonathan Swift’s land of giants
Brobdignag - so all the photographs are in A1 size, two feet by roughly
three feet. Subjects include transforming students to fit the vision of the
photographer, and taking everyday objects like gnomes and skateboard and
looking at them from a different visual perspective.
This is a great opportunity for the public to see some of the extra
curricular work from the students of CIT and is sure to raise a few
eyebrows, pose a few questions and stir some thoughts with the students¹
unique take on life in general.
